This program uses markup such as "++markup" and "markup++" to mark the beginning and end of each part. For example, to make changes to the tab names, change the text between "++ tab1" and "tab1 ++" as seen below the instructions. This will automatically change the tab name - after saving and reloading the page.

TABLE INSTRUCTIONS
Tables may be difficult to read because they can not contain line breaks (pressing the return key). This is because Squarespace inserts code at each line break that will make huge gaps in the table. For ease of reading, you can add line breaks while editing. But before saving, always REMOVE ALL LINE BREAKS. Keep one space around each markup tag.
READ MORE BUTTON INSTRUCTIONS - SPACING
If the 'Read More' button found at the bottom of each page is too high, don't use a normal Squarespace spacer block to make room. That's because Squarespace spacers don't appear in mobile mode. Instead, Use a Squarespace code block with the following code to give extra room:
Code Block Spacer -> <p> </p>

++answerWhat are gifted and talented programs?
Gifted and talented (GT) programs serve students whose talents and gifts are not fully met through traditional education programs.answer++
++answerHow are students chosen for GT programs?
Standardized assessment measures for gifted education are designed to test students’ cognitive development and compare that with the typical development of peers. They measure verbal/language skills, quantitative/number skills, and nonverbal reasoning.
Common assessments include the CogAT, the OLSAT, and the NNAT.answer++
++answerWhat happens after the GT test?
Every school will use test scores differently. Teachers will use your child’s test scores, along with other school-specific criteria, to determine if your child should be placed in a gifted education program.answer++
++answerWhat’s on the CogAT?
The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) Level 5/6 test is administered to kindergarten students. It contains three sections:
verbal battery (picture analogies, sentence completion, and picture classification)
quantitative battery (number analogies, number series, number puzzles)
nonverbal battery (figure matrices, figure classification, and paper folding)
Each battery ranges from 20 – 45 minutes. However, the total testing time may be longer to allow time for directions to be read, etc.answer++
++answerHow long is the CogAT?
Total testing time for the CogAT is 112 minutes. answer++
++answerHow many questions are on the CogAT?
There are 118 questions on the CogAT.answer++
++answerWhat’s a good score on the CogAT?
The CogAT is a norm-referenced assessment, meaning students are scored based on a comparison with other students of the same age and grade. First, a raw score is calculated based on the total number of questions answered correctly. The raw score is then used to calculate three types of scores.
1. The Standard Age Score (SAS) compares a student with other students of the same age. A score of 100 represents average cognitive development. A score higher than 116 (accounting for the standard deviation) suggests a student might have greater cognitive development than others of the same age.
2. The National Percentile Rank (NPR) compares a student to his/her peers. For example, a 75 percentile rank shows that a student scored better than 75 percent of test takers of the same age and grade.
3. A stanine (STAndard NINE) is a number between 1 and 9, with 1 indicating lowest performance and 9 indicating highest performance.answer++
++answerWhat’s on the OLSAT?
The Otis–Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT) Level A for kindergarten is divided into a verbal and a nonverbal section.
The verbal section contains verbal comprehension and verbal reasoning questions.
The nonverbal section contains pictorial reasoning, figural reasoning, and quantitative reasoning.answer++
++answerHow long is the OLSAT?
The OLSAT takes approximately 60 minutes.answer++
++answerHow many questions are on the OLSAT?
The OLSAT has 40 questions.answer++
++answerWhat’s a good score on the OLSAT?
The OLSAT is a norm-referenced assessment. First, a raw score of the total number of items answered correctly is calculated. This is then converted into a School Ability Index (SAI). The SAI is a number up to 150 generated by comparing students to other test takers of the same age and grade. The average score is 100, and the standard deviation is 16. Students who score higher than 116 are identified as having more advanced cognitive development. The OLSAT also expresses scores in a percentile rank that compares a student’s score with those of other test takers of the same age and grade.answer++
++answerWhat’s on the NNAT?
The Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT) Level A exam contains only nonverbal questions in the form of pattern completion and reasoning by analogy questions.
How long is the NNAT?
The NNAT is completed in 30 minutes.answer++
++answerHow many questions are on the NNAT?
There are 48 questions on the NNAT.answer++
++answerWhat’s a good score on the NNAT?
The NNAT is a norm-referenced assessment scored identically to the OLSAT. The converted raw score is referred to as the Naglieri Ability Index (NAI) rather than the SAI.answer++
